PHILIPPINE FSRU LNG INC. (PFLI)
A major link in the LNG value chain owned by AXIL is its proposed Philippine FSRU LNG import terminal or its variant (“PFLI”) project to be located in the Subic Bay area, proximate to the country’s main load center and proximate to the Meralco franchise area. This Floating Storage Regasification Unit or "FSRU“ or its variant at shore terminal shall provide the country’s LNG buyers access to the growing natural gas supply in North America and Australasia, especially coming from unconventional gas sources such as shale and coal seam gas or coal bed methane.
JOSE "Joe" B. T. ALDON, M.Sc., Managing Director and CEO
Mr. Jose B. T. Aldon, or "Joe“, has more than 30 years of relevant and diverse industry experience and is currently the Managing Director and CEO of a leading infrastructure development company. He had participated and is responsible for directing and managing the activities of a team of managers, technical staff, joint venture partners & consultants in the project development and the implementation of several critical infrastructure projects worldwide.
Joe's most recent involvement is an investment/acquisition exercise for a renewable energy project and an infrastructure company. Before moving back to the Philippines, he worked in Canada where he was involved in the identification, evaluation and execution of project proposals in his role as Director, International Business Development for TransCanada PipeLines Ltd. (TCPL). Assignments included: leading and winning a $310 million natural gas pipeline bid for the financing, design, construction and operation of a privatized natural gas system in Colombia, South America; a $2.0 billion crude oil pipeline with British Petroleum and TOTAL of France; was involved and led the $1.4 billion proposal to build an offshore gas pipeline and a 1200 MW power plant in the Philippines.
Joe also actively participated in several privatization (BOT & JV) projects in South America and SE Asia. Prior to his assignment as Director, Mr. Aldon was employed as the Manager-Project Services for TCPL, which undertook a US $4.0 billion expansion program in its North American system that opened up the Northeastern US market for Canadian gas. Prior to being employed with TCPL, Mr. Aldon worked for fifteen years in the energy, infrastructure and construction industries in Asia, Saudi Arabia, North Africa, South and North America where he gained invaluable project management and operating experience.
During Mr. Aldon’s career, he has gained insights and hands-on experience in the areas of asset valuation and acquisition, joint ventures and mergers, corporate planning, home office budgeting, field estimating, contract formation and administration, cost monitoring and forecasting, risk and value analysis and program management. He has a number of years experience working overseas and has been exposed to diverse multicultural project and business environment.
Mr. Aldon holds both M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Civil Engineering. His Master’s degree is from the University of Illinois while his undergraduate degree is from the University of the Philippines. He took financial management courses, formal studies in labor and organizational relations and attended various seminars in corporate planning, marketing and project finance. He has also attended the Advanced Management College (AMC) program for Senior Executives offered by the Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. Mr. Aldon is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Project Management Institute (PMI).
